Microsoft changed the name of Office Communicator to Lync and later Skype for Business. If your computer still has Lync, you may need install the program as part of Microsoft Office before it will upgrade to Skype for Business.
WHO CARES What it is called? Just change the details behind the name. Why would you change the name of a great Communicator tool such as oh uh... "Communicator" to Lync? WTH does that name have to do with communicating?
Oh wait - Let's change it to Skye For Business. So does Skype now own it? But yet it is delivered/installed only in MS Office...
