IMHO Google's Arts and Culture "app" and website are very underutilized. Every time I go there I think... I need to use this more often... So here is how to go there more often. Install the Extension! Once installed it loads some artwork when you open a new tab! Sadly it does not also load Google search so from there you have to click a "bookmark", type in the URL, use your "top sites", or apps. Those are the options you can find buy exploring the extension options. Clicking on the bottom left (info about the art) takes you to all the information about the piece. Including seeing the artwork on location via Street View. Pretty cool.
And of course at the top left keep exploring "Google Arts & Culture"
Read what you need! Skip the rest! (Trying to keep you updated - in as little wording as I can!)
Questions about any of it… Let me know with a response.
We have plenty of software available for teachers (and students) to install. All (most) requested (approved) software can put in this GSD Workspaces for patrons to install. Here is how to install it!
GSD Workspaces. Refresh, search Click "Install" or "Launch". Easy Peasy!

As we end the year please be sure your students, especially Seniors and those employees retiring or otherwise leaving Granite School District, understand that their files will be deleted. A lot can happen over summer including employees leaving for other reasons - so it is important that you ALL understand how to take your files with you. GSD sent a blanket e-mail with that information on it. Here is “their link” which only mentions Google take out. It fails to mention anything about your OneDrive or PC files! So here are my directions!
Each fall I run into this problem of seniors e-mailing me that they need some documents or an e-mail that was in their Google account. Sad that I have to tell them – “sorry it is gone”. Please show them these instructions or bring your class down and I’d be happy to walk them through it. As mentioned last week… Sync the free audiobooks is already in Week 3. Six books have been released free for you but you must get them THAT week! As we talk about even more summer books here is NYPL free app for reading - https://www.nypl.org/about-simplye “Techie Tuesday” is all about the Library this week!
Please do not forget you are more than welcome to bring your classes down to use your school’s library. March Madness voting is here There is a bracket in the library on the window, I did not hand out a fillable bracket as I was a smidge late on getting them printed. BUT you can still vote! Enjoy and please encourage your students to vote too. Each week it will get narrowed down from the sweet 16 until we have a “Champion”. Picturing Women Inventors I have a set of these posters that will be hanging on the library windows. There is a “student made” quiz that goes along with them if you would like to have your students take the quiz. Or if you want to come down and take the quiz feel free. The quiz is linked on the QR codes outside the window. If you want student’s scores be sure they answer that question correctly! Adding a Calendar
Many places use a room calendar to sign-up for on your own, OR just to see if the room is available. Here is how to find out.
Please also find and sign up for the Library this way!
If you cannot add to the Calendar... (or get an error)
Outlook may be trying to load a cached version... Try this in Outlook
Outlook allows 3o min time slots. Lets do 2 teacher per half hour. But aware of there may be other classes coming down at the same time! :)If you use OUTLOOK Web AccessDVD's going, going...What do things like
all have in common? They are all DVD’S that are going in the garbage on Thursday. UNLESS you come and browse and take the ones you want! gone!Turn It In usage reportI had a meeting with the turn it in sale rep today. She said she ran our usage report 3 times as she was NOT sure of the data. We, (YOU) are off the charts in usage!!!! Hoorray! Good job on the plagiarism pledge stuff. That data also showed that you are using it as a "teaching tool" and not a "caught ya" tool. More information next week. Portal issues anyone?Yes the portal was down more than it was up yesterday. PLEASE don’t let that stop you or your students from working! Canvas, Gradebook and all the other sites were working fine. I seldom use the portal so I did not know it was down. All the links you need are on the school website or in the blue bar under… (drum roll…) Links! And if one is missing – let me know so I can add it. 3-D PrintingWe (the Library) are proud owners of a 3D printer now. While it is not for everyone and can take some time it is still available for you and students. I am hoping we can get some 3D designs going and learn more about how to use it with classes for both design and content. Check out some ideas and projects at https://www.thingiverse.com/ More 3D printer links are here - www.diigo.com/user/ksmedberg?query=%233d PTC's set-up.A reminder to those who need it... (as of Monday 2:15 there are 50-ish of you!!! IOW 33 have sent in your links!) Your zoom links should be ready and posted in Pick-a-Time as described and told to you earlier this week. If parents do not have your link when they sign up tomorrow they will likely be calling the school secretaries for it! LINK TO INSTRUCTIONS IS HERE Viral RundownThese are always great - https://rumors.newslit.org/ Granite District Parent App.Why yes there is one out there. Let me know if you are interesting in previewing it and I can send it to you.
